Countdown Clocks

Christmas countdown clock - Santa caught!Don't YOU be caught out!

Organizing Christmas can be chaotic, especially if you've left everything to the last minute...

I've only ever done this once.

With too many work commitments, I ended up doing my Christmas shopping in an airport departure lounge

Talk about expensive, awkward and near impossible to get home without breakages!!

I vowed that day, I would never do that again.

Hopefully you aren't in this predicament.

With the clock above to remind you, just exactly how many days you have left?

My motto, it's never too late to get started.  So with that in mind, let's find out more about the Christmas Countdown clock.

Hopefully this tells you, that you have plenty of time for your ideal Christmas!

So when and where do you start?

I usually prefer to start my Christmas preparations in the New Year, so January.

First order of business is that you hit the sales!

oh no!  it's not january?

Never mind! If you are starting this later in the year, then welcome aboard.  There are a few checklists around Christmas that will help you here, but bookmark this page for future reference!

That's right, just as the shops are unloading their excess Christmas items, you've the perfect opportunity to bag a really good bargain and at a snip of the cost.  Surely that's a win win all round.

What's the main reason for me starting in January?  The festive season is still fresh in my head.  I can look to replace any breakages with a good bargain or two.  Then there is the budget.  It has to be said, I'd like to think it's just about the bargains, but in essence our family budget for the Christmas season is usually tight.

This gives me the following advantages...

  • A list of decorations that need replacing / renewing, or I just plain like them!
  • To note what things went well with my family and friends.
  • A big note to change things that did not work as well as I'd like!
  • Time to plan and budget for the coming year.

Let's swing into action and look at getting you into the same position.

As with any good organized situation, you are going to need some sort of planner.  I'd recommend a notebook or use the calendar on your smart phone.

Failing that a Christmas Notebook will do just the trick.

What can I say - here are some of our family hightlights...

Our Victoria's first Christmas!

We visited EuroDisney this year, so it was a little bit of an anti-climax.

Christmas fell favourably with my work this year - plenty of time with the family.

Plenty of toys for all ages, we seemed to be knee deep in presents, paper and boxes.

Despite being poorly, and having to work Christmas Day we then had to do Christmas dinner with no oven!!

As this series of pages evolves we will offer an e-mail solution for you.  This will deliver your monthly activities right to your inbox!
