Back to school supplies list for starting out at secondary school.
Aged 11, it's time for the next big school adventure, Secondary School.
This journey starts in Year 6, where the big schools around the UK are looking for their new Year 7 in-take.
They open their doors, and welcome the new Year 6's into the school to see if they can entice the children to join them.
Having made a choice on which Secondary School to go to, your child will go through a one or more transition days.
It was at these days that our daughter picked up on the essentials she was going to need on a day-to-day basis.
She was a little surprised with the amount of PE kit that was needed, and being a worrier, she was concerned about carrying it every day.
I did tell her that she needn't take everything every day - but for some reason, this is what she chooses.
So here we are looking at everything you need to be successful in Secondary School.
With the welcome letter, along came the prospectus and the uniform list.
Unlike Infant or Juniors, the uniform for Secondary School is always compulsory. In fact for our daughter's school, uniform infractions will incur a detention.
So buying the right uniform, and from the right place is key.
Finding a suitable school bag will mean you will need to place your supplies. A run down of what my daughter takes with her is as follows...
There may also be other specialist equipment that is needed, depending on the classes are being undertaken.
This back to school supplies list is part of a series, you can find the next in the series here...
